EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE

As a Strategic Communication major at Michigan State University, I had the opportunity to choose a specialization to earn throughout the course of my program. The specialization I chose is Leadership & Organizational Communication, and I did because I felt it embodied some of my favorite aspects of Communication.

Throughout my undergrad and graduate years at Michigan State University, I completed courses that encompassed all aspects of Communication and taught me how to be an effective and prepared communicator.

CUSTOM LEADERSHIP MODEL

Leadership and its theories are complex and situational. The perfect leader cannot be described in a single definition. I created a model to describe the process of a successful leadership exchange that ultimately results in positive psychological gain for both leader and follower.

COMPANY REBRAND: TOYS "R" US

Myself and two team members were responsible for analyzing the business strategies of an organization that failed and determine their primary mistake. We then had to construct a complete rebranding strategy in hopes to revitalize the brand.

SEMESTER-LONG TEAM SIMULATION

This team simulation included modules based on content we had learned in previous courses in our graduate program: evaluation techniques, branding, digital media strategies, digital messaging, crisis and ethics, and image rebuilding.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PLAN

In one of my favorite Strategic Communication's courses, Catalyst Thinking in the C-Suite, I was tasked a Leadership Development Plan that was unique to my experiences, current situations and leadership style. This plan put me in a vulnerable position that I found to be extremely beneficial. I learned about my strengths and weaknesses in terms of leadership, and created measurable steps to develop strengths and address challenges.

CRISIS COMMUNICATIONS ANALYSES

Crisis Communications is crucial to have knowledge in. Every organization should be prepared and know how to recognize a risk and prevent a crisis, and how to respond and communicate to the public and stakeholders in the case of a crisis. Much of my coursework involved case studies and analyzing an organizations response to a crisis.
